George Antoniades is an Of Counsel at Fortior Law.
He is a qualified lawyer in Cyprus and a registered member of the Nicosia Bar Association as well as the Cyprus Bar Association since 2010. He obtained his Bachelor degree from Oxford Brookes University.
George is a Cypriot litigation specialist. He areas of expertise are commercial litigation in international trade and logistics, corporate litigation (shareholders’ disputes, winding-up, derivative actions), liquidation and insolvency, banking law and data protection.
George’s recent work highlights include:
– Acting in a complex multinational litigation centred in Cyprus concerning a fraudulent conspiracy. The case involved a worldwide freezing injunction against multiple defendants, jurisdictional challenges, challenges for abuse of process, committal applications for contempt of court.
– Acting for a shareholder in an application for equitable winding-up of a company given a deadlock between shareholders. These proceedings likewise involved an application for a worldwide freezing injunction against the company.
– Obtaining a Norwich Pharmacal order against a Cyprus authorised financial institution to obtain information concerning transactions intended to defraud creditors of a defendant company.
– Obtaining injunctions to stop a Cypriot company and internet service provider from publishing information defamatory of a Ukrainian coal trader.
